Artist info

Widely recognized as an illustrious artist who is outspoken about his opinions on political issues many avoid, Pulido has accumulated a distinguished body of work that speaks both to his love of Cuba and his poet’s soul.
His impressive credentials include graduating from the University of Havana with degrees in Graphic Design, Ceramic, Sculpture and Ecology, a BA from the National School of Fine Art, San Alejandro, Cuba, in Drawing and Sculpture, commissioned monumental national works from the Cuban government and touring worldwide as a professor of fine art.

Though his works are exhibited around the world in Cuba, Italy, Bulgaria, Australia and throughout the United States in private collections and at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana and the Museum of Sydney in Sydney, Australia, Pulido’s humble and authentic nature remains unmarred and touches the hearts and minds of everyone he meets.

About

Gallery Swarm Mission

Established in 2010 by noted master painter Samuel Gillis, Gallery Swarm is unique in form and function. Located in an alternative gallery space in a 6,000 square foot facility with vaulted ceilings and exposed brick, it shares its home with high-end rug store Olson Rug.

Gallery Swarm has but one guiding principle: anyone can be an artist. Founder Sam Gillis and his "swarm" have long believed that many an artistic genius has had his ember of creativity put out before it can blaze in all its glory because of judgment. From supporting budding artists in their first creative attempts to helping emerging artists build their portfolio and getting them ready for their first shows to exhibiting master painters at the height of their careers, Gallery Swarm seeks to give artists in all phases a refuge to call home.

Like chameleon artist Gillis, who is known for his ability to paint with exquisite mastery in virtually any style or technique, the Swarm (as it's been dubbed) hosts a wide range of art and artists that embrace many different styles and techniques. As well, this contemporary space, that boasts 10 times the space of most galleries hosts an intimate private studio where members of the Swarm can paint and lends itself to many other art forms that have sought out to be a part of the Swarm. As such, our space has featured many events focused on a myriad of disciplines as well as the social, networking and business side of art.
