Samuel Gillis and His Blue Period it not about the emotions its about how to afford more paint

Image
Picasso and his Blue Period might have been  dark emotional roller coaster ride for the famous Pablo Picasso but who knows. Pablo Picasso's Blue Period - 1901 to 1904. The Blue Period of Picasso is the period between 1900 and 1904, when he painted essentially monochromatic paintings in shades of blue and blue -green, only occasionally warmed by other colors. more can be found at: https://www.pablopicasso.org/blue-period.jsp Image found at: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://www.pablopicasso.org/images/paintings/the-blindmans-meal.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.pablopicasso.org/blue-period.jsp&h=654&w=650&tbnid=_bMApr1TpBDlVM:&q=picasso+and+blue+period&tbnh=160&tbnw=159&usg=AFrqEzcAUtUr8lEn6eIohoR_3P8UHDo-7w&vet=12ahUKEwjcq8DWiujcAhUpHDQIHUBGCqsQ9QEwAHoECAwQBg..i&docid=wExw7Cjk2F5BGM&client=firefox-b-1-ab&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjcq8DWiujcAhUpHDQIHUBGCqsQ9QEwAHoECAwQBg#h=654&imgdii=R_I8ZOl_eMLrKM:&tbnh=160&tbnw=...

Image
This piece created in Illustrator.  The composition is complex.  Use of color was done well.  This should be turned into a painting. One day!

Scanner Darkly - self portrait

Image
Scanner Darkly and Self Portrait of Artist Working in AI is amazing I enjoy the medium and the things that are possible with that program. Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop together is a creative way to make digital images.  I could see some of these images turn into great paintings.

When I was 22 I had a drug induced psychotic break. Reality stopped having any meaning and for a few days there, I felt like everything I’d been experiencing in my life until that moment suddenly came rushing out in vividly artistic psychedelic animations. When I sank back into consciousness, I was surprised to find out my “real” world no longer existed. I had to rebuild. From scratch. So I made a painting. And then another one. And another one. And slowly but surely, a new world emerged. My paintings are the way I create my world. I live something and then I paint about it. Or I paint something and then I live it. I’ve created thousands of pieces. And each one corresponds to a part of my self and my experience that I can only express through a painting. I’m classically trained and appreciate the foundation that gave me to explore my insider roots to teach myself new techniques. The broad range I’ve been able to master lets me create in virtually any style from 17th Cen...
